The Art Group is a "hands-on" group using a variety of medium.

The group meet at Dereham Methodist Church Hall on the afternoon of the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays in the month.

The Art Group

The art group has enjoyed a series of sessions lead by artistic members of U3A, who have come and demonstrated a variety of artistic techniques and craft skills. These have been so popular, that we are hoping to continue learning new media. We are looking for people who would like to come for one session to demonstrate a basic introduction for beginners in watercolour, acrylic or oil painting, or any other medium. We have done some drawing and pastel work, which got people started but more on these skills would be great.

This is an informal group of enthusiasts but many of us are beginners and often hampered by awful school experiences of art classes. So if you could come and show us how to overcome the fear of the blank piece of paper and how to get started and enjoy the process, you will find a very willing group of learners. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month from 1.30-4.00pm.
