Friday April 26th for a 2.00pm start
at Trinity Methodist Church Hall
Rob Spray returns as our speaker.
His talk:“Cley Prehistoric Forest"
Cley is a Mecca for nature lovers but very few appreciate, or even know about, it's underwater credentials. It's the start of the North Norfolk's chalk reef, it has a WW1 shipwreck packed with life and perhaps most surprisingly an ice age forest...
Of course that's now the remains of 10,000 year old trees, as beds of compressed oak and still some trunks which which form a wooden reef packed with life. Marine life strives to exploit every niche and this one is another part of the complete picture of Norfolk's wildlife. These fragile pocket habitats need to be understood and treasured!
Cost £3.00 or £5.00 for non-members who are thinking of joining our U3A.
It is helpful if you have the right money or nearly the right money on the day.
Please bring your red membership card with you
The talk will be followed by refreshments
